Featuring Class 56s and Class 66s
The classic train set (mark 1s) is headed up from Hampshire to the Midlands, picking up at principle stations, and hauled by a pair of DB class 66s for super power. On arrival into Bescot Yard we reverse after attaching a popular Grid class 56, courtesy of Colas Rail, and thereafter follow an attractive circular itinerary through the Welsh Borders to Dee-side before arrival into festively festooned Chester for a mid-afternoon short break of around 90 minutes.
Under way again we head for Crewe, avoid the station platforms, and start heading southwards back into the West Midlands to eventually say farewell to the class 56 in the Bescot area early evening. It then remains to serve the set down stations with our 66s once again in charge.
