    We would like to invite all of you to our Christmas Meal at the Castle Hotel in Downham this year. This will take place 8th December, 7.30pm.

    The cost is 23.95 per person, with a 10 deposit needed. You can pay

    HOMEMADE BROCCOLI AND STILTON SOUP
    Served with a swirl of fresh cream and herb croutons

    A TRIO OF MELONS
    Served with wild fruit and blackcurrant coulis

    LOCAL MUSHROOMS
    erved in a cream and white wine sauce encased in puff pastry

    PRAWNS AND CRAYFISH
    Served on crispy iceberg lettuce, coated in a marie rose sauce and served with brown bread and butter

    Served with rich English gravy, chipolata sausages, homemade stuffing and Yorkshire pudding

    SLOW BRAISED BEEF
    Cooked in red wine with shallots, bacon and mushrooms

    POACHED SALMON
    Cooked in white wine and served on a bed of creamed leeks, coated in a fresh chive sauce

    ROASTED RED PEPPERS
    Filled with courgettes, aubergine, onion and mushroom, topped with a cheese sauce and finished under the grill
